Do you teach adult lessons?

Yes!

We have adult specific rockschool lessons on Saturday afternoons between 1.00pm and 3.00pm where you get to jam in a band and learn all the same performance elements.

Adults can also book 1:1 lessons in their chosen instrument at any time throughout the week.

Do you teach very young students?

Our lessons start at age 5 with 1/2 hour sessions tailored especially for little ones! We find that students beneath that age range struggle with the size and weight of the instruments, and lack the focus to remain engaged throughout.

Our mini-rocker sessions include a fun jam session at the end of each lesson and we can provide 1/2 and 3/4 size instruments.

What is the difference between rockschool and 1:1 lessons?

1:1 music lessons mean it is one student to one tutor in private. These lessons especially suit students who wish to work on and obtain graded music certificates, or for more advanced students looking for in-depth studies into specific genres or techniques. 1:1 students are still invited to take part in our performances and showcases but must be willing and able to attend group rehearsals prior to the shows.

Rockschool lessons are taught in a 2:1 ratio – two students per teacher – this adds a fun social dynamic and lower pressure to lessons but ensures that students don’t get lost in a crowd and get the individual attention they need to progress!

Our Rockschool lessons are all about building confidence and performance skills right from the beginning of learning your chosen instrument. The first 45-50 minutes of each lesson are spent working on your skills and techniques, and we close each and every lesson with a jam session where students get to perform two songs as a full band!

We have everyone jamming from their very first taster session, you’d be surprised how much you can learn in one hour!

If you’re not sure which one is for you then get in touch and we will be happy to advise you and book a free taster session for you to try it for yourself!

I'm shy and nervous, I'd love to learn an instrument but I'm not sure if I have the confidence

You’d be surprised how many people feel the exact same way when they walk into our studio! It’s perfectly normal, and we promise we will never make you perform if you don’t want to.

Occasionally we will have students who do not wish to take part in the jam sessions, or at larger public performance, and that’s totally okay by us.

Often very nervous students will change their mind and find the confidence to perform when they have settled in after a few weeks.

What happens if we miss a lesson?

If you give us more than 48 hours notice you will always get a catch-up lesson at our earliest convenience, either a double session or we can arrange for you to come in on another day.

If you give us more than 24 hours notice we are always happy to do our best to find you a catch-up lesson, though we can not guarantee a space.

Unfortunately, we cannot arrange to catch up lessons if you give us less than 24 hours notice.

If you pay cash for lessons please be aware that lessons cancelled within 24 hours will be charged at your usual rate.
