We’ve had a really busy summer taking the Solihull Rockschool Roadshow out to community events in the Solihull area where we met some lovely people and had lots of fun giving free music taster sessions!
Our first event of the summer was at Solihull Carnival in Tudor Grange Park. Unfortunately, there was torrential rain throughout the whole day but we met plenty of brave people who defied the awful weather to come out and rock with us!
In June we did 2 smaller events at Tidbury Green School summer fayre and Hollywood School summer fayre where luckily the weather was a lot better!
Our next event was Shirley Saturday Market in Shirley High Street where once again the British weather let us down, but as you know we’re more than capable of making our own fun and we spent our time sheltering from the elements learning some circus skills from the children’s entertainer (who also played a mean guitar solo on a unicycle!!!)
We were out and about loads in July, starting off at Peterbrook School summer fayre and Hockley Heath Fete where beautiful sunshine all day meant we had lots and lots of eager people waiting to have a free taster music lesson on drums, guitar & bass.
The sun was shining again for Shirley Carnival, the biggest event of the summer. One of the things we love most about our job is inspiring people of all ages, from those who can barely reach the drums, to people with a life-long passion for music!
Later in August, we took our music taster roadshow to Shirley Sports Day where we had everyone rocking in between races, and we made our first visit to Dorridge for their annual Dorridge Day.
For our last event of the summer, we went back to Tudor Grange Park for Fun In The Park, one of our favourite events of the year that just seems to get bigger and better!
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined in with our free music lessons throughout the summer, it was lovely meeting you all and we hope you had as much fun as we did! We’ve signed up loads of new future rock stars from our summer roadshows, if you’d like to join them then head over to our contact page and book yourself a free taster now.
We will be packing the big purple gazebo down for the year now that summer is finally over, but don’t worry if you missed out as we will be back with our Christmas Roadshows at fetes and festivals throughout December!
Keep Rocking \m/
